Gogi Studios was started in a modest manner by Nigar Nazar in the seventies. People are receptive to the message advocated by Gogi and this is used to launch many social advocacy campaigns.
It has successfully completed many commissioned projects dedicated to the issues of human rights. It used a totally different medium for advocacy on various issues; It has worked on various campaigns using different mediums to raise awareness on issue of children rights, environment and sexual harassment.
Nigar Nazar is the first woman cartoonist of Pakistan and of the Muslim world .Her character, Gogi has not only appeared in different newspapers and magazines but four children’s hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been decorated with Gogi cartoons and health messages. Nigar has also authored and illustrated 27 books for children. . She was nominated by BBC for “100 Global women who have made a difference in 2014” NHK, largest TV channel of Japan has produced a 28 minute documentary which was aired on February 19 and 20, 2015. Recently the President of Pakistan launched her book on Corruption.
