About Gogi

Gogi Studios is an art studio, which gives innovative visual approaches to projects. Our team consists of creative professionals including women and young people who are a part of the think tank, research and creative team.

Gogi studios was started in a modest manner by Nigar Nazar in the seventies. People are receptive to the message advocated by Gogi and this is used to launch many social advocacy campaigns.

Gogi studios has successfully completed many commissioned projects dedicated to the issues of human rights. Gogi studios used a totally different medium for advocacy on various issues; Gogi Studios has worked on various campaigns using different mediums to raise awareness on issue of children rights, environment and sexual harassment.

About Nigar Nazar

Nigar Nazar is the first woman cartoonist of Pakistan and of the Muslim world .Her character, Gogi has not only appeared in different newspapers and magazines but four children’s hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been decorated with Gogi cartoons and health messages. Nigar has also authored and illustrated 27 books for children. . She was nominated by BBC for “100 Global women who have made a difference in 2014” NHK ,largest TV channel of Japan has produced a 28 minute documentary which was aired on February 19 and 20,2015.Recently the President of Pakistan launched her book on Corruption.

Mission

Our mission is to design highly expressive cartoons which provide cheers to gloomy days and attempt to beat the hypocrisy of society.

Projects

 Gogi Studio has been doing a number of voluntary and welfare projects under the supervision of CEO Nigar Nazar. Nigar has also taught in the Fine Arts faculty of Fatima Jinnah Women’s University, Rawalpindi. She has given workshops on cartooning in various institutions such as the University of Oregon, Karachi University, and Lahore Gymkhana. Gogi Studios has successfully completed commissioned projects as well as voluntary projects initiated by the Chief Executive Officer who is dedicated to the issues of human rights.

We have done projects for the:

UN Bodies, UNDP, UNICEF,  WHO, GIZ, FNF, JICA, PLAN and Asian Development Bank, NAB, PTV, and World Bank, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment, National Book Foundation,  Embassy of Netherland, US Embassy, British High Commission, and Embassy of Turkey.
